The Highly Sensitive Person

“High Sensitivity” can be challenging, particularly when one doesn’t even know what it is. This course focuses on an introduction to the topic of high sensitivity and then moves into a practical understanding of neurotransmitters, one of the pillars of living a joyful life as a highly sensitive person. 

The “evolutionary strategy of high sensitivity” is not generally known or well understood even by those who have heard of it. This course provides an introduction to the subject and then delves into the role that neurotransmitters play in human physiology, and more specifically, in the physiology of high sensitivity. We’ll be answering questions such as:

  • What is high sensitivity?
  • What is a “highly sensitive person?”
  • Do people with the evolutionary physiology of high sensitivity need an increased supply of certain neurotransmitters?
  • As a highly sensitive person, is it possible to consistently feel better and more resourced?

Understanding Neurotransmitters

This course aims to help solve the main issue that many people with high sensitivity struggle with: how to feel better, consistently. An understanding of neurotransmitters is key and we’ll look at various topics, including:

  • The nature of neurotransmitters
  • The role neurotransmitters play in the exhaustion and chronic fatigue many HSPs experience
  • The power of neurotransmitters to help heal fatigue, anxiety, depression, and trauma
  • The link between high sensitivity, neurotransmitters and ADD or ADHD
  • The significant ways dietary decisions impact the neurotransmitters in the highly sensitive brain
  • Whether improved neurotransmitter production leads to more happiness for highly sensitive people
  • How neurotransmitters are made
  • Vulnerabilities in the body that can lead to poor mental and emotional states
  • What can be done to improve neurotransmitter insufficiency
